BBC Orders Political Drama From London Spy Creator

BBC Two has ordered MotherFatherSon, a new eight part drama from London Spy writer and creator Tom Rob Smith.

MotherFatherSon is a political and psychological thriller which sits at the intersections of police, politics and the press. It promises to be as much a family saga as it is a study of power and how even the mightiest of empires can be put in jeopardy when a family turns on itself.

Tom Rob Smith says: “After House of Cards crossed the Atlantic, it feels like the perfect time for a provocative new political thriller set in the UK, a notion certainly supported by recent events.”

BBC Two Channel Editor, Patrick Holland, says: “I was a huge fan of London Spy and am absolutely delighted that Tom Rob Smith is writing his next major drama for BBC Two… MotherFatherSon promises to be an exceptional series from an exceptional writer.”
