Björn Bengtsson Stars In The Last Kingdom Series 2

Björn Bengtsson, last seen on UK screens as Lasse Waldemar in Thicker Than Water (Tjockare än Vatten), will play Sigefrid in all eight episodes of the second series of The Last Kingdom.

Series two sees Uhtred travel north to avenge Earl Ragnar’s death and regain his ancestral lands of Bebbanburg. Meanwhile, Alfred champions a Christian Dane as a new king to unite the tribes, but he is enslaved so Uhtred must mount a rescue mission… bringing him up against an old enemy.

Alexander Dreymon (American Horror Story) returns as Uhtred, alongside David Dawson (Peaky Blinders), Emily Cox (Homeland), Ian Hart (Boardwalk Empire) and Tobias Santelmann (Marcella) from the first series. They are joined by new cast members including Thure Lindhardt (The Bridge), Millie Brady (Legend), Peter McDonald (Thirteen) and Richard Rankin (From Darkness).

The second series of The Last Kingdom, which is currently being filmed in Hungary, will premiere on BBC Two next year and have its US premiere on Netflix. The first series will be available on Netflix in the UK later this year and is currently being released in other territories worldwide.
