Bryan Cranston Completes Line Up For Electric Dreams

In their final major casting announcement for Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, Channel 4 has revealed that Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and Essie Davis (Game of Thrones) will star in the episode Human Is, whilst Annalise Basso (Captain Fantastic) and Maura Tierney (The Affair) will appear in Safe & Sound.

The series will feature ten episodes inspired by Philip K. Dick’s renowned short stories, adapted and contemporised for global audiences by leading British and American writers. Each episode will be a standalone drama that will serve to illustrate Philip K. Dick’s prophetic vision whilst celebrating the enduring appeal of his work.

Human Is, written by Jessica Mecklenburg (Stranger Things), tells the story of a woman in a loveless marriage (Essie Davis) who finds that her emotionally abusive husband (Bryan Cranston) appears to be a different man when he returns home from battle – in more ways than one.

Meanwhile, in Safe and Sound, written by Kalen Egan (The Man In The High Castle) and Travis Sentell (Believer with Reza Aslan), a small-town girl (Annalise Basso), already gripped with social anxiety, moves to a futuristic city with her mother (Maura Tierney).

Exposed for the first time to urban society’s emphasis on security and terrorist prevention, it isn’t long before her school days are consumed by fear and paranoia. She soon finds guidance and companionship in the most unexpected of places.

Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams will air later this year on Channel 4 in the UK, and on Amazon in the US.
