Cormoran Strike Is Back To Investigate The Silkworm

The Silkworm, the second instalment in the Strike series to be adapted for BBC One by Ben Richards (Spooks) from the Robert Galbraith (J.K. Rowling) novels, will air in two parts beginning September 10th and concluding September 17th.

In the series Tom Burke (War And Peace) plays Cormoran Strike, a war veteran turned private detective operating out of a tiny office in London’s Denmark Street. Assisted by his secretary Robin Ellacott (Holliday Grainger), Strike’s unique insight and his background as an SIB Investigator prove crucial in solving complex cases.

In The Silkworm, a novelist goes missing, prompting his wife to hire Cormoran Strike to find him and bring him home. But as Strike investigates, he finds that the novelist has just completed a manuscript featuring poisonous pen-portraits of almost everyone he knows, and if it were published it would ruin lives.

When the novelist is found brutally murdered under bizarre circumstances, it becomes a race against time to understand the motivation of a ruthless killer unlike any that Strike has encountered before…
