Filming Underway For Second Season Of Humans

Channel 4 have announced that filming for the eight episode second series of Humans is now underway. Gemma Chan, Katherine Parkinson, Tom Goodman-Hill, Emily Berrington, Will Tudor, Colin Morgan, Ivanno Jeremiah, Neil Maskell and Ruth Bradley will all reprise their roles and will be joined by some new faces.

Several months have passed since series one and Niska (Berrington) is still at large and in possession of the consciousness code. Her synth family, Mia (Chan), Leo (Morgan) and Max (Jeremiah) are each trying to find their place in the world, while Joe (Goodman-Hill) and Laura (Parkinson) attempt to mend their marriage.

As reports circulate of unusual synth behaviour, the ripple effects of one simple decision sees the past return to the door of the Hawkins house. Joe, Laura and the entire family are faced with a difficult choice that will put the family under an intense spotlight.

Meanwhile, Milo Khoury (Marshall Allman), founder and CEO of a leading tech company is pioneering new research, but he needs help so tries to recruit Dr Athena Morrow (Carrie-Anne Moss) – the country’s foremost expert in AI. Suspicious of his motives and focussed on her own work, Morrow is single-minded in her drive to create a new kind of machine consciousness.

The BAFTA nominated first series was Channel 4’s highest rated new drama in over 20 years, and had an average of 2.1 million viewers in the US. SundanceTV will air a repeat run of season one beginning May 25th 2016.

Season two of Humans is slated to premiere in the UK in late 2016, and to arrive in the US in 2017.
