Filming Begins On Channel 4 Humans Season Three

Channel 4 has announced that filming has begun on season three of Humans, written by Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley, which explores the ethical complexities of a new species set against a maelstrom of political chaos.

One year after the dawn of consciousness, a decimated and oppressed Synth population fights to survive in a world that hates and fears them. In a divided Britain, Synths and Humans struggle to broker an uneasy peace, but when fractures within the Synth community itself start to appear, all hope of stability is threatened.

Meanwhile, Synth family Mia (Gemma Chan), Niska (Emily Berrington) and Max (Ivanno Jeremiah) fight for their rights; and Joe (Tom Goodman-Hill), Laura (Katherine Parkinson) and their children Mattie, Toby and Sophie struggle to come to terms with the cataclysmic events of the last series and their deeply polarised views on the singularity.

Humans season three will look at the evolution of technology and its effect on society, what happens when the lines between humans and machines are blurred, and continues to ask whether sentient synths should be treated as human?

The eight-episode third season of Humans, which welcomes Mark Bonnar to the cast as scientist Neil Sommer, is due to air next year on Channel 4.
