First Look Preview Of Victoria Starring Jenna Coleman

ITV have released a preview trailer for the forthcoming drama Victoria, written by novelist Daisy Goodwin, and starring Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who) as Queen Victoria with Tom Hughes (Silk) as Prince Albert.

The eight part drama follows the early life of Queen Victoria from her accession to the throne at the tender age of 18 through to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert. The series chronicles the public and private life of one of history’s most interesting and influential monarchs who went on to rule for 63 years.

The cast includes: Rufus Sewell (Parade’s End) as Prime Minister William Lamb; Alex Jennings (Whitechapel) as Leopold I, King of Belgium and uncle to both Victoria and Albert; Peter Firth (Spooks) as the Queen’s uncle, the Duke of Cumberland; Catherine Flemming (Simones Labyrinth) as the Duchess of Kent, Queen Victoria’s mother; and Paul Rhys (Borgia) as Sir John Conroy, head of the Duchess of Kent’s household.

Victoria will begin with a ninety minute episode, followed by seven one hour episodes, and will air on ITV later this year.
