Grantchester Returns For Christmas Special & Series 3

ITV has confirmed that James Norton and Robson Green will reprise their roles in Grantchester as crime fighting duo Vicar Sidney Chambers and Police Inspector Geordie Keating with filming imminent on a 90 minute Christmas special for 2016 and a six episode third series to air in 2017.

In the Christmas special, pregnant Amanda (Morven Christie) is adjusting to life having left her husband Guy (Tom Austen). The love between Sidney (James Norton) and Amanda is palpable, but can a vicar in the 1950s get involved with a married, pregnant woman?

In the third series of Grantchester the new Archdeacon Gabriel Atubo reminds Sidney that as a clergyman he must put duty above his own needs and lead by example, but given the strength of his feelings for Amanda, is this something that he can do?

Meanwhile, Geordie (Robson Green) still appears happily married to Cathy (Kacey Ainsworth), but there is an undeniable spark between himself and police secretary Margaret (Seline Hizli).

Elsewhere, Leonard (Al Weaver) seems to have come to terms with Daniel (Oliver Dimsdale) leaving him and finds romance with someone else, and Mrs Maguire’s (Tessa Peake-Jones) friendship with Jack (Nick Brimble) grows, but can anyone replace her late husband Ronnie?

Grantchester is based on The Grantchester Mysteries by James Runcie, and will be filmed in Grantchester, Cambridge and London.
