Hard Sun To Rise From Pen Of Luther Creator

BBC One has announced that apocalyptic six-part drama Hard Sun, written by Neil Cross (Luther), will star Jim Sturgess (Close To The Enemy) and Agyness Deyn (Pusher) as detectives in a world that that is slipping towards certain destruction.

Robert Hicks (Sturgess) is a family man and a great copper, but profoundly corrupt. At the other end of the social and moral spectrum, is Elaine Renko (Deyn) who is difficult and damaged, but utterly incorruptible.

Hicks and Renko have a deep distrust of each other, for good reason, but they must learn to work together if they’re going to survive until the end of the world.

Jim Sturgess says: “I am very excited to be playing Hicks in this wonderful project. To work with Neil’s fantastic writing is a great opportunity and I hope we are going to create an amazing experience for our audience. I can’t wait to get started!”

Hard Sun begins filming in London this month and will air on BBC One later in 2017.
