Jack Whitehall & Miranda Richardson For Good Omens

BBC Two has announced that Jack Whitehall (Fresh Meat), Michael McKean (Better Call Saul) and Miranda Richardson (Harry Potter) have joined the cast for its six part adaptation of Good Omens, written by Neil Gaiman (American Gods) based on the novel he co-authored with Terry Pratchett (Colour Of Magic).

According to The Nice And Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, (the world’s only completely accurate book of prophecies) the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner.

The armies of Good and Evil are amassing, and everything appears to be going according to the Divine Plan. Except that a rather fussy angel named Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and fast-living demon Crowley (David Tennant) have lived among mortals since The Beginning and are rather fond of the lifestyle, so are not really looking forward to the war.

Jack Whitehall will be playing Newton Pulsifer, an unfulfilled wages clerk turned witch-hunter, and Michael McKean will take on the role of Sergeant Shadwell, the leader of the witch-finder army who sends him on his mission. Meanwhile, Miranda Richardson will play Madame Tracy, the psychic medium and part-time courtesan who provides a helping hand to the pair as they try to save the world from Armageddon.

Good Omens is co-produced with Amazon and will have its global premiere on Prime Video in 2018, followed by broadcast on BBC Two in the UK.
