ITV’s Little Boy Blue Filmed Scene At Goodison Park

On Sunday 30th October, four part factual drama Little Boy Blue recreated the moment when the parents and brother of murdered schoolboy Rhys Jones paid tribute to him at Goodison Park.

The drama written by Jeff Pope will explore Melanie and Steve Jones’ ordeal following Rhys’s murder in August 2007 as he made his way home to Croxteth Park across the Fir Tree pub car park following football practice.

Rhys was devoted to Everton, and in the days following their son’s tragic murder in August 2007, Melanie (Sinead Keenan) and Steve (Brian F. O’Byrne) were supported by the manager, players and staff at the club.

With the Z Cars theme playing as they walked out onto the pitch, applause rang out around Goodison Park for the one minute tribute to Rhys.

Filming took place at half time on Sunday 30th October during Everton’s game with West Ham. The series is directed by Paul Whittington (The Widower).
