Rowan Atkinson’s Maigret Hits 45 International Sales

BBC Worldwide has announced sales of Maigret Sets a Trap and Maigret’s Dead Man, based on the novels of Georges Simenon, to over 45 territories following ITV’s recent commission of two further Maigret films starring Rowan Atkinson.

Channels confirmed for the feature length dramas include: Russia (Channel One), Norway (NRK), New Zealand (TVNZ), Ireland (RTE), Finland (YLE) and Czech Republic (Prima TV), France (France 3), Germany (ARD), Sweden (TV4) and Denmark (DR). Maigret will air on BBC First in Australia, Benelux, pan Middle East and Africa.

Georges Simenon, who wrote 75 Maigret novels, is one of the most successful writers of the 20th century, having sold around a billion books worldwide. Maigret Sets a Trap and Maigret’s Dead Man were adapted for television by Stewart Harcourt (Love & Marriage).
