Sarah Parish Returns For Second Series Of Bancroft

ITV has announced that Sarah Parish will reprise her lead role in a four-part second series of Bancroft, written by Kate Brooke (Mr Selfridge).

Series two follows Bancroft’s continuing success after her promotion to Detective Chief Superintendent. She’s popular with her colleagues, and her crime figures are down, but it all comes at a price. She’s lonely and estranged from her beloved son Joe, and faces pressure from her pact with crime boss Daanish Kamara.

Meanwhile, Joe becomes inadvertently dragged into the middle of a double murder case, and Bancroft is determined to do anything to protect her son as she finds confronted by a chilling new antagonist.

Kate Brooke, said: “In Bancroft I wanted to explore a contentious anti-heroine, a woman we love and loathe in equal measure. I’m thrilled to be continuing her story. In this new series the repercussions of her past actions will come back to bite her in ways she could never have expected.

Bancroft series two begins filming on location around Bolton and the North West of England later this year.
