Thandie Newton To Star In Line Of Duty Series 4

The BBC has announced that Thandie Newton (Westworld) will star as DCI Roz Huntley, a new member of AC-12, in the fourth series of Line Of Duty written by Jed Mercurio. Martin Compston, Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar are also confirmed to return.

Under pressure to catch the perpetrator in Operation Trapdoor and prove herself to her superiors, Roz finds conflict with Forensic Co-ordinator Tim Ifield (Jason Watkins). AC-12 decide to investigate her handling of the case, but mother of two and wife to husband Nick (Lee Ingleby), Roz will stop at nothing to hold her life together.

Thandie Newton says: “I watched the last three seasons of Line of Duty with breathless admiration for its creators, both behind and in front of the camera. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining them now.”

Jed Mercurio says: “It’s incredibly flattering we’ve been able to attract such amazing talent as Thandie Newton, Jason Watkins and Lee Ingleby to join our brilliant regular cast of Martin Compston, Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar. We’re all looking forward to tormenting the nation with ever more diabolical plot twists!”

Filming for Line Of Duty series four, which marks a move to BBC One, starts in Belfast next month.
